Over 50 years ago scientists discovered that some plants, particularly wheat and beans, contained specific inhibitors of alpha amylases. Tests have demonstrated that 1 gram of this powerful standardized extract "neutralizes" over 560 grams of dietary starch, or over 2,250 starch calories. In a recent study Phaseolamin was shown clinically to reduce the conversion of dietary starch to glucose (sugar) by an average of 57%. No side effects were reported even at the 1.5 gram level. Carb Stopper also contains Gymnema sylvestre extract.
